End The Lie

Photo: END THE LIE
By Judith Froemming

"I wandered after some dream,
of golden threads and star-dusted wine.
One million miles from true north,
my skin fell off and I lost my shine.

The Con-troll drooled for my heart,
wet head pressed on cold stone,
shaking bones sucked desert dry,
'told you so' voices droned.

Time to let go the illusion,
give up the compulsion to climb,
in one waking, illumined moment,
the truth tells me Love is still mine.

Tears of release pour from the sky,
quench my bones and wash my eye.
Skinless, transparent, shimmering with light,
walk out of the drought and end the lie."

"I wandered after some dream;

golden threads and star-dusted wine.
One million miles from true north,
my skin fell off and I lost my shine.

The Con-troll drooled for my only heart,

wet head pressed on cold, dark stone,
shaking bones sucked desert dry,
'told-you-so' voices sourly droned.

Time to let go the illusion,

give up the compulsion to climb,
in one waking, illumined moment,
truth tells me Love is still mine.

Tears of release pour from the sky,

quench my bones and wash my eye.
Skinless, transparent, shimmering with light,
walk out of the drought and end the lie."
